Birmingham Bowline

The Birmingham Bowline is a variation of the basic Bowline knot. With this knot you can create more than one loop. This knot is is fairly easy to tie and untie after it has held a load. The Birmingham Bowline is versatile because it can either be tied before the loops are put to use, or you can pass the end of the rope around an object as you create the knot. One disadvantage of this knot is that it can't be tied in the middle of a rope.

To Tie a Birmingham Bowline :

Start by tying a basic bowline knot

Continue around to tie a second bowline. You can add as many more loops as you'd like.

Finish by dressing and setting the knot.
